A Monte Cristo sandwich is the American hybrid of the French's croque-monsieur. It plays on the our love for the mixing of sweet and savory. This ham, turkey and cheese sandwich is dipped in egg batter and then fried. This recipe adds texture by coating the bread in rice cereal before frying.
