Landreth Seed company was founded in 1784, and has provided farmers and gardeners with a wide range of heirloom seeds for many generations.
As GMO seeds become more prevalent, it becomes more difficult for heirloom varieties to live on, and Landreth has played an important role in preserving these traditional fruits and veggies.
Sadly, they have been experiencing financial troubles, and are working on selling a million $5.00 catalogues to pay off their debts. Their cry for help has radiated from Landreth’s Facebook page to gardeners across the country; in a matter of days, 2,000 people have paid $5 for Landreth’s new catalogue, a thing of beauty printed in America on quality paper".
