Beef Teriyaki Stir Fry

Ingredients
For Teriyaki Sauce:
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 teaspoon dark sesame oil
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 tablespoon ginger, peeled and minced
1 teaspoon garlic, minced
2 teaspoons sesame seeds, toasted
For Stir Fry:
2 cups broccoli florets
1 cup sliced red bell pepper
2 teaspoons oil
1 teaspoon cornstarch
Preparation

Whisk ingredients together in a small bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

Remove from pan and set aside.

Add vegetables and sauté for 5 minutes more, until beginning to soften.

About
This meal was so quick and tasted just like what I'd find at my favorite Chinese restaurant. Scratch that, it was much better. The place where I'd typically eat this meal is of the greasy spoon variety. The kind of restaurant where upon leaving, I feel as though I drank half a jug of canola oil and cleansed my palate with a teaspoon of iodized salt. So I guess this meal is a step above.
This homemade teriyaki sauce has a great salty sweet flavor contrast as well as a spicy kick from the ginger. But it's the toasted sesame oil that really makes it divine. It adds the most intoxicating rich, smoky depth.
