PRESSURE COOKER BEER BRAISED STEAK WITH ONIONS
Ingredients
2-3 pounds steak frozen
2 cups amber beer
2 cups beef broth
1 large sweet onion sliced
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
4 tablespoons flour
1/2 cup cold water
Preparation
1
Place steak, beer, broth, thyme, salt, and onion in your Instant Pot. Close and seal the lid, and place on manual mode for 60 minutes. It'll take a while to come up to pressure since the meat is frozen.
2
When the timer is complete, allow a natural pressure release for 15-20 minutes, and then vent any remaining pressure allowing the pin to drop before removing the lid.
3
Remove the meat from the liquid, and change the pot into saute mode. Allow the liquid to come to a simmer in the pot.
4
Mix together the flour and cold water, and whisk into the simmering liquid. Allow to thicken, stirring constantly.
5
Turn the pot off and pour the gravy over the meat and serve over rice, potatoes, or buttered pasta.
