1 pound extra-firm tofu, drained and pressed
1 1/4 cups water
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 tablespoon fresh ginger, finely chopped
1 tablespoon garlic, coarsely chopped
4 star anise, optional
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper
2 teaspoons sesame seeds
