Extra Moist Snickerdoodles

Ingredients

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
1 1/2 cups shortening, preferably butter flavored
4 teaspoons cream of tartar
2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Preheat the oven to 400°.

Mix 3 cups sugar, butter, shortening and eggs in large bowl. Sift together flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt. Stir into bowl.

Mix together 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon. Using large cookie scoop (about 1 rounded tablespoon), scoop dough the dip into sugar-cinnamon mix. Place 2-3 inches apart, cinnamon side up, on ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake 10 minutes or until set, but not brown. Remove from cookie sheet and cool on wire rack.
