Oma Bread
Ingredients
1 cup whole wheat flour
5 1/2 cups unbleached white flour
2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 cup sugar
2 packages dry yeast
1 cup powdered milk
2 1/2 cups very warm water
Preparation

Hold back 3 cups of the unbleached white flour.

Combine remaining dry ingredients.

Add warm water.

Mix thoroughly.

Mix in remaining flour.

Turn onto floured surface.

Divide dough in half.

Shape each half into loaf and lay in loaf pan sprayed with cooking spray and sprinkled with corn meal.

Let rise in warm place while covered 45 minutes.

Spray top with water just before putting in oven to prevent over-browning.

Bake at 400 for 25 minutes.

Cool on rack.

Serve warm.
