Waffles With Home Made Syrup and Fruit Salad

Ingredients

Ingredients for waffles:
1/2 cup sugar
pinch of salt
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
Ingredients for home made syrup:
1 cup heavy syrup from 1 29 oz. can of Cling Peaches in a Heavy Sy
1 star anis
5 cloves
Ingredients for fruit salad:
1 29 peaches from oz can of Cling Peaches in a Heavy Syrup
4 rings of ananas
1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh mint
1 teaspoon lemon juice

Directions for waffles:

With an electric mixer beat eggs and sugar until bubbly. Add salt and mix well. Add flour, slowly mixing with a spatula. Add milk and butter and stir to combine.

Let the batter rest for 5 minutes, covered with plastic foil.

Bake the waffles in the waffle iron according to the instruction for your iron.

Directions for home made syrup:

Put all ingredients together into a big enough pot and bring to boil. Reduce the heat to medium and let the mixture boil for 45 minutes until reduced to 1 cup.

Directions for fruit salad:

Dice the fruit, add lemon juice and mint. Stir to combine. Cover with plastic foil and set aside.

Serve waffles covered with fuit salad and heavily drizzled with syrup. Enjoy!
