Game Day Bratwurst-Cabbage Soup

Ingredients
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1/2 teaspoon caraway seeds
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
4 cups vegetable stock
1 cup potatoes, diced
1 cup parsnips, sliced
1 can Great Northern Beans, drained
1/2 head cabbage, sliced
2 bay leaves
1 pound fresh bratwurst, cooked and cut crosswise in ΒΌ" slices
Preparation

In a standard stock pot, saute bacon over medium-high heat.

Add a generous splash of white wine to deglaze.

Stir in the tomato and allow to cook for 1 to 2 minutes before pouring in the vegetable stock.

Add the potatoes, parsnips, beans and cabbage.

Toss in 2 bay leaves, and bring to a boil

Remove bay leaves.
