Pears In Red Wine

Ingredients

11 Pears Peeled With Stalks
1 1/8 quarts Red Wine
6 7/8 Allspice Berries
5 1/2 Cloves
3 tablespoons Clear Honey
1 teaspoon Lemon Zest
1 teaspoon Orange Zest

Preparation

1. Peel pearsa2. spices in muslin bag if you wish3.heat wine and sugar and honey gently to dissolve, pop in pears 4. cover and simmer at least 20 mins - oven is good 5.Reduce wine to syrupy state after removing pears ps add some root ginger or even stem ginger and syrup

Serving Ideas : serve hot/warm or cold with cream
