About
Atayief (or Qatayief ) is the king of sweets in Ramadan and only made during this holy month as the main dessert.
Atayief is pancake-like dough filled with all kinds of things, such as milk pudding, full cream, white cheese and walnuts. I got couple of variations for the fillings; one is vanilla caramelized banana and the other is cinnamon apple. I think those are easy to prepare and no need to list the recipe since they are so easy to prepare!
You may also fry the qataieyf in hot oil; it should take only few minutes to fry, then repeat the sugar syrup step and serve hot.
Of course the main sweetener for most Middle Eastern sweets is Sugar Syrup .
