Carolers' Spiced Hot Apple Cider

Ingredients

1 gallon apple cider
8 ounces bag cinnamon candies (red hots)
3 cinnamon sticks
1 medium orange
1 cup cranberries
1 small lemon
1 small lime
10 wholes cloves
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

Preparation

Pour apple cider in bottom of coffee perculator.

Cut orange in half. Squeeze one half into cider and slice other half.

Cut lemon in half. Squeeze one half into cider and slice other half.

Cut lime in half. Squeeze one half into cider and slice other half.

Arrange sliced fruit in top of perculator.

Stick cloves in fruit slices.

Sprinkle nutmeg over fruit slices.

Arrange cinnamon sticks over fruit.

Pour cinnamon candy and cranberries on top of fruit.

Start coffee perculator.

About

A warm and comforting holiday drink, rum and/or white wine can be added for an adult drink if desired. I remember my mother making a version of this recipe several years when we would host a Christmas Carol party.
