Ingredients

1 pound Fresh green beans
1 medium onion, chopped
1 large clove garlic, chopped
1/4 cup olive oil
8 oz. Can tomato sauce or a 14 oz. can of Italian tomatoes with liquid (omit
1/2 cup water
Salt and pepper

Preparation

Trim and wash beans; cut into 2-inch lengths; reserve.

Saute garlic and onion in oil. Add seasonings.

Add beans, tossing lightly.

Cover and steam for 10 minutes, tossing once during cooking.

Add water and tomato sauce.

Cover and cook 20-25 minutes.

May be served as a vegetable or with rice.
