Ingredients
1 cup
water
2
oranges
thinly sliced
1
lemon
thinly sliced
6 lrg
green tomatoes
- (abt 4 lbs) chopped
4 cups
sugar
1/2 teaspoon
salt
Preparation
1
Cook first 3 ingredients in a Dutch oven over medium
heat
17 to 20 minutes or until fruit is tender. Add tomato and remaining ingredients,
stirring
until sugar
dissolves
.

Bring to a
boil
,
stirring
constantly;
reduce
heat
, and
simmer
,
stirring
occasionally, 3 hours and 30 minutes or until mixture
thickens
.

Pour hot mixture into hot jars, filling to 1/4 inch from
top.
Remove air bubbles; wipe jar rims. Cover at once with metal lids, and screw on bands.

Process in boiling-water bath 10 minutes.
