Ode To A Holiday Cookie

Ingredients

3 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup sugar
2 tablespoons milk

Preparation

1
Pre-heat oven to 375
2
Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt.
3
Combine butter and sugar in large mixer bowl and beat until smooth. Beat egg and milk into butter-sugar mixture.
4
Gradually add flour mixture to wet ingredients in mixer-bowl, and beat until the cookie dough pulls-away from the sides of the bowl.
5
Divide the dough into quarters, wrapping each piece in waxed paper, and refrigerate 2 hours.
6
Instead of using flour to prevent sticking, use powdered sugar to roll-out dough to approximately 1/4 inch thickness. Roll each one quarter package at a time, so that dough remains cool while working.
7
Cut into holiday shapes, place one inch apart on greased baking sheet, and bake until cookies turn slightly brown around edges (approximately 10 minutes).
