Baked Sweet (Heart) Ravioli

This recipe was entered in The Foodista Best of Food Blogs Cookbook contest, a compilation of the world’s best food blogs which was published in Fall 2010.

Ingredients

Sugar - 1 ½ tbsp
Butter - 2 tbsp, softened
Oil - 1 tbsp
Milk Chocolate - ½ ounce
Molasses - 1 tsp (optional)
Baking soda - a pinch
Salt - a dash

Preparation

Mix the flour with salt and baking soda.

Melt the butter and chocolate in a bowl.

Add the sugar,oil to the butter-chocolate mixture and mix.

Add the above mixture to the dough and make a ball.

Divide the dough into two even sized balls.

Refrigerate for a couple of hours.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Dust work surface with flour, roll the dough to 1/8inch thick.

Using a heart shaped cookie cutter, cut out the dough.

Line it an inch apart on a greased baking sheet.

Fill the heart with a pea-sized jelly in the center.

Top it with another heart and seal with fork impressions.

Poke the center with a knife for the steam to vent out.

Bake for 15 minutes and move to cooling rack.

Serve at room temperature with a spot of tea of a steaming mug of coffee.
