A tostonera, or plantain press, is a tool used to make tostones by pressing pieces of plantains into flat rounds. They are usually made of wood, but also plastic or metal, and come in various sizes.

I love tostones -- the way mom use to make them, or tostones rellenos -- green plantain stuffed cups. And I make them so VERY EASILY with this cool gadget called Tostobueno the Ultimate Tostonera. Not only does it let me smash three tostones at a time, but I can also mold three plantains for cups that I then stuff with anything I want.
