While at the farmers market this week, why not look for some edible flowers? If you have never tried eating edible blossoms, you are in for a treat. Large blossoms can be filled and eaten, like the zucchini flower, or added as a garnish, like the photo above of pansies and sunflowers, used as a flavor component in salads, in omlets and even sugared and eaten as a dessert.
When buying them from the market, buy them early and get home fast. Once picked, the flowers wilt pretty quickly.
