Talk about one tough cookie! A 104-year-old cookie from Sir Ernest Shackleton's Antarctic expedition sold for about $1,949 at Christie's in London.
The cookie was made specifically for Shackleton's Nimrod Expedition (1907-1909). It is a Huntley & Palmers biscuit that measures 3 inches in diameter. There is no word on how it tastes.
For the record, the cookie fetched $350 than estimated. It seems that most people don't want a really stale cookie. Go figure.
