Russia is no stranger to shocking cannibalism cases, but this one may take the cake. A man allegedly killed his father-in-law following an argument, then ground his flesh in a mincer and sold the meat pies in a popular Moscow cafe just miles from the Kremlin.
Those pies were allegedly on sale for three days before authorities began to question the nature of the ingredients. In that time, "dozens" of pies were sold to customers. Neither the victim nor the suspect have been named. Police officers are investigating whether any human meat was included in the pies.
Criminals convicted of cannibalism often receive just 15 years in jail for their crimes in Russia.
