Steve Jobs' diet quirks are among the many revelations in Walter Isaacson's new book about the Apple cofounder. Jobs was supremely influenced by "Diet for a Small Planet," which he read in college; the tome caused Jobs to swear off meat and experiment with fasts and other extreme diets.
We also learn that Steve Jobs had an exceptional palate: "He could taste two avocados that most mortals would find indistinguishable, and declare that one was the best avocado ever grown and the other inedible."
Some of Steve Jobs' diet quirks, however, weren't so positive. Towards the end of his life, Jobs fasted to induce euphoria -- a practice he admitted was instinctual -- as his doctors "were begging him to consume high-quality proteins."
