Anthony Bourdain Continues Verbal Assault on Paula Deen at the South Beach Food and Wine Festival

February 28, 2012

It's no secret that Anthony Bourdain is not a fan of the way Paula Deen handled her diabetes diagnosis, and at the South Beach Food and Wine Festival, he added a few more choice sentiments. During a question-and-answer session, an attendee asked Bourdain whether he was a hypocrite for taking aim at Deen -- after all, he openly smoked during "No Reservations" episodes. Here's what he replied, courtesy of Ecorazzi:

"You are right. I did smoke cigarettes for a lot of years on my show. But I wasn't selling you motherf-in' cigarettes. I wasn't selling Smoking Tony dolls for your kids. You couldn't go to five or six casinos around the world and find the Tony Bourdain f-ing smoking section. And when I found a spot on my motherf-ing lung, I didn't wait three years so I could get a deal so I could sell you the Patch, OK."

Anthony Bourdain also called out one of Deen's more notorious concoctions, a bacon-and-egg-topped burger with donuts as buns. Do you agree with Bourdain?

More drooling from Bourdain. Yawn. Your hypocrisy is clear to all. Your childish drama queen rant trying to justify your own self-destructive smoking habit by claiming you never "sold" it to anyone else, is nonsense. You, Mr. Bourdain, do not have a "Bourdain smoking section" in casinos precisely because you have not been offered to. Were a casino to approach you and offer you the inevitable money profits you would sustain with promoted smoking area in their casinos.....you know, I know, and the whole country knows...you would snatch up the opportunity in a heartbeat.
Paula Deen is none of your business, your jealousy refuses to allow you to see that, your smugness is your little cushion in life that keeps you buffered from the real world, a world that, in it's general common nature, will not always agree with your opinions.
That, my friend, scares you, because it threatens your false foundation built on a judgmental attitude hinging on fear of rejection. Grow up.
As for Paula Deen, we love you! Your humble, amiable, approachable personality is much appreciated in a world where selfish narcissism is so common.
