PETA wanted to make the blow of not being elected president a little easier for Mitt Romney, so they sent him a vegan gift basket. PETA thought their version of a consolation prize would be fitting since Romney was seen eating a vegetarian breakfast burrito and veggie burgers while on his campaign trail.
"Turns out the most reliable polls were those showing an increase in the number of people eating vegetarian and vegan foods," said Ingrid E. Newkirk, president of PETA.
Perhaps a basket of vegan goodies will give Romney a nudge to make a diet change.
