A holiday yule log is a labor of love. This classic Christmas time dessert is made by rolling a frosted rectangular sponge cake into a cylinder shape and decorate the outside with more frosting to make it appear like a tree branch or log. The yule log, or Bûche de Noël, is often served in France and other Francophone countries during this time of year and is usually the center of attention at the table.
