The Barbie Cafe has finally opened up its doors in Taiwan. The official Mattel restaurant is engulfed in essentially pink, with their hot pink sofas, high-heeled shoe tables, and chairs decorated with tutus. A Barbie logo t-shirt along with tutus, Barbie armbands, glitter and tiaras is the standard uniform for the staff.
Iggy Yip, the senior manager in Mattel's consumer products division in Greater China explained the reason for selecting Taiwan.
"We picked Taiwan because theme restaurants are very popular and successful here. We are very confident that the Barbie Cafe can promote our brand image,"
The cafe will also sell dolls, Barbie-centric clothing, accessories and furniture.
