Even though basil is not in season, you can still make pesto from a variety of winter vegetables. Kale pesto is earthy, healthy and oh so delicious when paired with pasta and sandwiches. Sticking to the traditional recipe, kale pesto is made by combining kale with parmesan cheese, garlic, pine nuts and olive oil. You can do this in a food processor or blender.
