How to Make the Best Spiced Chicken Breasts

Grilled spiced chicken breasts gives this mildly flavored meat a kick of flavor.  Chicken breasts are a blank canvas that pair well with just about any other seasoning.  This dry rub recipe makes a generous amount so you'll have plenty leftover to use in other meals.  It would be delicious on fish, steak, or even tofu.  Grilled spiced chicken breasts can be served on their own with some of your favorite barbecued side dishes.  Leftovers can liven up a salad, soup or even chicken wrap.  If you're looking for a way to liven up an old chicken stand-by, try this recipe.

Grilled Spiced Chicken Breasts

1 tablespoon chili powder
2 tablespoons garlic powder
1 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 tablespoon dried thyme
1 tablespoon cumin
1 tablespoon ground black pepper
4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves

In a medium bowl or jar, mix together the chili powder, garlic powder, salt, onion powder, thyme, cumin, and ground black pepper.  Generously rub your chicken breasts with the spices on both sides

Preheat grill for medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grill grate.

Place chicken on the grill, and cook for 6 to 8 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit.  Allow the meat to rest for 5 to 10 minutes before serving
