Chipotle peppers are smoked jalapeno chile. They are available canned in adobo sauce (made from oregano, salt, garlic, and vinegar) and dried. They have a smoky quality and can be quite spicy. Usually when we buy chipotle peppers, we use one for a particular recipe and then are left with almost an entire can. Here are some ways to use up the rest of your peppers.
Chipotle Margarita
Adds a spicy kick to this classic Mexican cocktail.
Raspberry-Chipotle Barbecue Sauce
Use this on rib or a piece of grilled chicken
Chipotle Aioli
A great dipping sauce for sweet potato fries or atop a burger.
Chipotle Vinegar
Use this as a base for a salad dressing or slaw.
Chipotle-Honey Salsa
I love this salsa on my tacos!
