Quick and Easy Taco Seasoning

May 12, 2011

Although the lawsuit that claimed Taco Bell's Beef failed to meet the USDA definition of beef, has been withdrawn. The law firm that filed the suit, Beasley Allen, in Alabama, said they dropped the suit as a  result of Taco Bell changing its marketing  and  "product disclosure". Taco Bell says no money was exchanged, and no product  or advertising changes were made. Interesting that Taco Bell felt those were important points to impress upon us. So, the fact remains that Taco Bell's meat contains: 88% Beef and 12% Filler. Before that 12% gets picked apart, remember that TB is fast food. It is not supposed to be healthy, nor is it in any way, healthy. If you avoid eating fast food Mexican food, you can still make your own seasoning (with recognizeable ingredients) and enjoy them at home!

Here is a simple recipe for Mexican seasoning, that you can create and keep on hand for those taco and nacho cravings. Mix with your choice of ground meat or sprinkle on fish before grilling, and make your own Mexican night, without the 12% mystery fillers.
