Richard Branson, founder of Virgin Group, and basketball player Yao Ming are asking China to stop serving shark fin soup in their restaurants.
"The world is getting wealthier. In China in particular people are getting more affluent," Branson said. "And they can now afford to buy shark fin soup. So it is a major problem. And therefore, there is a major battle to try to reverse that trend.”
Branson and Ming are also currently working with VirginUnite and WildAid to help save the 73 million sharks that are killed each year.
