Olympians Advised to Avoid Eating Liver

The British Food Standard Agency has warned its athletes to avoid eating liver ahead of the London Olympics to cut their risk of testing positive for clenbuterol, an anabolic agent. "The FSA cannot rule out the possibility that if a large portion of liver is consumed containing clenbuterol at permitted residue limits, urine collected shortly after consumption may contain detectable levels of clenbuterol," the agency wrote in a statement.

Two athletes -- Chinese weightlifter Tong Wen and Spanish cyclist Alberto Contador -- have previously blamed food after testing positive for clenbuterol.
