Props to Grist for posting this excellent story. Apparently, Americans throw out nearly 40 percent (not a typo) of the food we produce. That's not to say that much of the food is not edible. This man finds food in the dumpsters of Whole Foods and Trader Joe's before repurposing it into healthy meals for his family.
Maybe not for everybody, but still an incredible story.
