Nestle is running a Kit Kat augmented reality campaign that gives fans the ability to pick the next flavor from four selections: Double Choc, White Choc, Orange and Peanut Butter. Customers can use their smartphones and the Blippar augmented reality app to scan campaign posters and vote for their favorite flavor.
Another tech-savvy feature Nestle is implementing as part of the Kit Kat campaign is geofencing: Signed-up customers who walk near a store that stocks the new Kit Kat flavor will receive a notification on their phone. The new Kit Kat flavors are set to be unveiled on Jan. 23; voters have until Feb. 24 to decide which flavor will be a permanent part of Nestle's repertoire.
