Rogue Ales' John Maier, a brewmaster, recently used his own beard follicles to create beer from the yeast found in his facial hair. The company was looking for a new yeast for brewing and jokingly cut nine beard follicles from Maier, whose hair came back with the perfect yeast strand to brew. The hairy brew is still being tested and should be released in early 2013. The name of the brew? The New Crustacean.
As odd as this brew may be, it may not be as weird as Hanson's Mmmhop IPA beer.
