Former US President, Bill Clinton has recently dropped 20 pounds and it's all thanks to his new vegan diet.
After needing several heart procedures over the years, the 64-year-old finally wanted to become healthier and chose a meat-free lifestyle to help him do it.
"I essentially concluded that I had played Russian roulette because even though I had changed my diet some and cut down on the caloric total of my ingestion and cut back on much of the cholesterol in the food I was eating, I still — without any scientific basis to support what I did — was taking in a lot of extra cholesterol without knowing if my body would produce enough of the enzyme to support it, and clearly it didn't or I wouldn't have had that blockage," he confessed. "So that's when I made a decision to really change."
These days, Clinton says he has more energy and his recent test results have shown a lot of improvement.

I love Bill but clearly he hasn't read the science that says clearly there is NO LINK between dietary cholesterol and heart disease. It's a shame he has to suffer needlessly because on dietary myths the continue to haunt us.
I think veganism on moral grounds is laudable and yes, some of my best friends are vegan. Doing it for health reasons is a bit misguided IMO.

I'm afraid your a bit misguided. Read "The China Study" by Dr. Colin Campbell. It is a comprehensive book compiling decades of studies on how meat and meat products have affected the health of Nations. Yes, perhaps cholesterol and heart disease are not as correlated as we previously thought. But telling people they are "misguided" when they give up bacon cheeseburgers and fried chicken in exchange for whole grains and vegetables? What do you work for the National Cattleman’s Association?
Good Job Bill, keep up the good work.
