Yesterday, the Bocuse d'Or USA competition was held at Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, N.Y., to determine the American representative for the International Bocuse d'Or to be held in France in 2013. Esteemed French chef Paul Bocuse established the Bocuse d'Or competition in 1987 and chef Thomas Keller has been the president of the American team since 2008.
The winner was Richard Rosendale, executive chef of the Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, WV, with his assistant Corey Siegal. Jeffrey Lizotte of Restaurant ON20 in Hartford, CT took home the silver while the bronze was awarded to Le Cordon Bleu instructor William Bradley of Cambridge, MA.
