Jersey Shore's favorite meatballs, Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and Deena Cortese, stopped by The Meatball Shop in New York with In Touch magazine to see if they could really make the Italian favorite. The duo received a cooking lesson from the Shop's co-owners, Daniel Holzman and Michael Chernow.
"It feels like an old lady breast!" Snooki said of the ground meat. "It's in my fingernails; I'll save some for later," Deena joked.
They both apparently did surprisingly well. "I used to cook with my mom and grandma," Snooki explained of her culinary skills.
So how did Snooki and Deena get nicknamed as the "meatballs?" It was all thanks to their Jersey Shore co-star, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro.
"We were fighting, and he said, 'You guys look like meatballs,'" they said. "We decided to turn it around and make it positive. Now girls with curves want to be called 'meatballs!'"
